Our Story

A cooperative built by families, for families.

Founded in 1995 by educators and parents in Barra do Garças, our institution was born as a cooperative — a model where families are not just clients but active participants in the educational journey of their children.

Over three decades, we have grown into a full-cycle community school offering early childhood education, elementary school, middle school, and high school. Our roots in the Araguaia region shape our identity: we teach with attention to local culture while preparing students for a broader world.

Every classroom is designed around interactive learning. Every teacher is trained to see the child before the curriculum. Every family finds a seat at the table.

What we stand for

  • Cooperative governance with active family participation
  • Interactive pedagogy across all age groups
  • Small classes and individualized attention
  • Cultural connection to the Araguaia region
  • Continuous teacher development and mentorship
Programs

Four levels, one continuous journey.

From the first day of preschool to the last day of high school, students grow within a consistent educational philosophy that adapts to their age and evolving needs.

Level 01

Early Childhood Education

Preschool · Ages 3 to 5

A play-based environment where children develop language, motor skills, and social awareness through guided activities and structured routines.

Level 02

Elementary School

Grades 1–5 · Ages 6 to 10

Foundations in literacy, mathematics, natural sciences, and the arts. Interactive projects build curiosity and cooperative habits from an early age.

Level 03

Middle School

Grades 6–9 · Ages 11 to 14

A deepening of core subjects with growing autonomy. Students take on research projects, civic conversations, and community-facing initiatives.

Level 04

High School

Grades 10–12 · Ages 15 to 17

Academic preparation for higher education combined with life skills, ethical reasoning, and mentorship for university and career transitions.

Our Approach

Interactive learning, community roots.

Our pedagogical model rests on three commitments that shape everything we do — from lesson planning to family meetings.

01 / STUDENT AT THE CENTER

The child before the curriculum

Every learning plan begins with the individual student — their pace, their interests, and their questions. Content follows the learner, not the other way around.

02 / COOPERATIVE VOICE

Families shape the school

As a cooperative, decisions about programs, calendars, and priorities include family representatives. This governance model is our defining feature.

03 / REGIONAL ROOTS

Learning that belongs here

We draw on the culture, ecology, and history of the Araguaia region as living material for our classrooms — while opening doors to the wider world.

Family Voices

What our community says.

"Our daughter has been here since preschool. What keeps us at this school is the sense that we are heard — as a family and as members of the cooperative."

Márcia P.
Parent, Elementary Level

"The teachers know each student by name and by story. That kind of attention is rare, and it makes a real difference in how our son learns."
